What I’ve learned on my personal wellness journey is that healing is an individual experience that comes from within.  No one can do it for you.  Not your spouse, not your parents and not your doctor.  And, while your doctor may be helpful, he or she isn’t going to wave a wand and magically heal you. Just like anything in life, YOU have to want it, find your own inspiration, and go after it. Period.

It can be a difficult process that takes time, energy and focus, but engaging in the process of self-care is truly a generous act of self-love.

Looking back on my own wellness path, I realize that stress was the universal underlying factor related to all of my chronic symptoms.  And, I’m pretty sure that today we’re all still dealing with high levels of daily stress that affects our health.  You may be thinking- “Yep- right. I’ve heard this before. We all know that stress is bad and it leads to heart attacks and other health problems. So, yeah… got it.  Meditate, exercise and do stuff to manage stress.”

Yes, I had read and heard that too. But, what I didn’t realize at the time was that I had normalized a high level of unhealthy stress for more than a few years. Or in other words, I wasn’t able to recognize that the level of stress I was experiencing was unhealthy.  I had accepted it as a part of normal every day life and it was steadily draining my energy and well-being. It was like drinking a daily dose of poison and thinking that everything would turn out just fine.

Have you really stepped back to think about the level of stress in your life and the real effects it may be having on you mentally, emotionally and physically? Or have you been living with jam-packed schedules and stressful conditions so long that you don’t even realize that you have normalized an unhealthy level of stress in your life? Is it affecting your relationships with family and friends?

If so, be mindful of any symptoms you may be experiencing emotionally, as well as physically.  Aches, pains, anxiety, fatigue, insomnia and brain fog (among many other symptoms) are your body’s way of telling you that something isn’t right and you need to slow down and pay attention.

My earlier and very cavalier approach to stress, turned out to be very misguided. I’d read and heard about the impacts of stress too, but I brushed it off thinking- “It’s fine. Yes, it’s really hectic and busy right now, but I’ll be ok. I can push through. There’s just too much that I have to get done now, so “me time” can wait. I’ll make some time to rest later.”

Unfortunately, the small amounts of “me time” were few and far between. I didn’t take much time to rest. I ignored the red flags my body was waving at me. And, I kept going 100 miles per hour, taking care of everyone around me but myself.

I ended up exhausted, burnt out and plagued with crippling allergies, sinusitis, brain fog, hair loss, acne, fatigue, acid reflux, cycle issues, panic attacks, and much more!  And, there you have it… the impact of stress at its finest. I didn’t realize it at the time, but my life choices and the resulting stress were affecting my health, my relationships and most of all, my happiness.

In retrospect, I wish that I cared more for myself and stopped pushing myself to be some kind of super woman- to do it all without thinking for a moment what the consequences for my health or future quality of life might be.  It didn’t serve me, my family or my loved ones.

Now, knowing from first hand experience the severe impact that unhealthy eating, unhealthy thoughts and emotional stress can have on us, I hope to help you turn your symptoms around by addressing and working with their root causes to help facilitate healing. In other words, I hope to inspire you to take the very thoughtfully and strategically designed steps in this program to start feeling better and to support your body in doing what it’s naturally designed to do: Heal.

My holistic health consulting practice draws from Medical Medium information and uses a nutrient-dense and detox-based approach to help people reclaim their health from chronic illness. In addition, using holistic modalities like Reiki and Reflexology, also allows me to work with the nervous system to bring the stress response down and to help the body to release unhealthy tension that can get trapped in the body.

Once the stress response is reduced and the body is properly supported, the brain is able to signal a rest and repair response in the body via a more balanced nervous system.  This is when regenerative relaxation in the body begins.  This is when the real healing starts- and that’s critically important to improving your health.  Your body is designed to heal itself. It just needs the support in a way that allows the body to rest, relax and repair physically, mentally and emotionally.

And so, ultimately, the ultimate goals of my Inspire True Wellness program are to:

  • Provide an action plan to help you reclaim your health from chronic illness,
  • Bring down the body’s fight or flight stress response,
  • Stimulate and support the body’s healing process, 
  • Reduce and eliminate chronic symptoms through a nutrient-dense and detox-based approach, and
  • Provide you with lifelong tools and information to care for your health.

Taking time and the necessary steps to reclaim your health is a form of self-care and self-love that is transformative. It starts to create a healing space within that connects you to your inner self, and that inspires more energy and desire to keep moving forward to better health.
